Experience

I started out teaching at Dunn middle School in Dunn, North Carolina years ago.   Today I am a third grade teacher.

I have been chairperson for the third grade team for thirteen consecutive years.  Also I am a graduate of the Emerging Leaders and BELL Team from AEA.



Bio

I grew up in Dallas County.  Now, I have six sisters and three brothers living.   Also, I have two wonderful children, a son and a daughter, who are both college graduates. My daughter (Catherine) is a second grade teacher.  My son (John) is a tech person.  My precious nieces (Bop Bop) is very special to me.  Her name is Jimyce. My great niece, Kailey, is a unique person.

 I am the past President of the Education Association of Bessemer and past member of the EPPP Committee for AEA.Presently, I am the Vice President of the Bessemer Reading Council.  In 2008, I was selected as The Outstanding Reading Teacher.    I served as the Director of Membership for the Alabama Reading Association for three years from 2010 until 2013.  I received an award for increasing membership attendance. As team leader I have served thirteen consecutive years as chairperson of the third grade team and again in 2013 - 2014. 

At church, I teach the Women's Bible Class, serve on number two Usher Board, and the Youth Director.
